Very friendly B&B Blackwinterday Lidingö, Sweden26 ott 2008 "Big Fish" is a perfect place to stay in Alghero. Its around 10-15 minutes walk to the center and the old town. The rooms are nicely decorated and clean.The owner, Franca, is very friendly and welcoming. Great Italian hospitality.
The "breakfast corner" is very convenient and includes a microwave and fridge which can be used.
A highly recommended place to stay for your trip to Sardinia.

9 lug 2008 Live like a Sardinian in wonderful Alghero!
Together with my mom I stayed for one week (27.06.08 - 04.07.08) at the Big Fish Bed & Breakfast in Alghero. We enjoyed our time very much! The BIG FISH is located in walking distance to the beatiful old town district of Alghero. Everything seemed to be very open, friendly and safe. The B&B is situated in the second floor of a normal Sardinian house, thus, there are no crowds of tourists, you can experience the pure Sardenian life! The kitchen, the bathroom and our room (with balkony!) were very clean and quite comfortable considering the overall rates. If you have been to Italy or Sardinia before, you`ll know that you cannot compare the breakfast served to any other countries. So don`t expect too much for your breakfast! Anyway it was much more fun to go shopping for Sardinian specialties, e.g. Prociutto Crudo, Sardinian cheese etc.! At the end I would like to thank Franca very much for her hospitality. She was very kind and her recommendations for good restaurents in Alghero were much appreciated!!
“A great to stay”belseboo England30 giu 2008 This is a great place to stay for those looking for a different perspective of Alghero. The flat comprises large clean rooms and a cosy kitchen, which is perfect for being flexible and not constrained to set meal times. We had an en-suite bathroom and a little balcony, which was great during the balmy Alghero evenings. The breakfasts and coffee machines are great, and the ten-minute walk into town is quite pleasant. Franca is very helpful and keen that guests enjoy their stay. If you're looking for something different, more independent and away from the touristy areas, this is a great little place to stay.

From the moment we booked this B&B, Franca, the landlady was nothing but helpful and friendly. She will pick you up from the airport when you land - she gives you her mobile to ring at any time. Alternatively she gives you a number for a taxi - Giovanni - who was also more than happy to get us. The price though was slightly morethan the cents it would have coston the bus - but we landed at the wrong time!Once at the B&B we recieved a very detailed introduction to Alghero and all the places we should visit including maps and notes. All from Franca herself.
The room was wonderful and clean - the decor was strange for Italy - Leapord print and tribal masks - but non the less very appealing. We had an en suite in the room consisting of a shower, sink and toilet - all very clean. There are rooms with shared bathroom also. There is a shared kitchen with fridge, microwave, sink and coffee machine, all wonderful. Franca comes everyday to clean!
The B&B is 10mins walk from the beach and all the restaurants and shops. There are many beaches to choose from, white sandy ones and more rocky ones which the locals seem to use more.
There is also a supermarket round the corner for all your wants and needs - including making a picnic to eat on the beach!
All in all probably the best value for money beach holiday you can get!
